The Qstarz 818XT High-Speed GPS unit is the ideal combination for us with lap timing Apps such as RaceChrono and your Android mobile phone. Normally these Lap Timing Apps will not work very well at all when using the phones internal GPS as it is not efficient or fast enough at acquiring satellites. This translates to bad data and poor lap timing accuracy. When using the 818XT unit in conjunction with an Android phone and something like the RaceChrono App, your data will be 99% spot on, which is more than enough for accurate Lap Timing.

The 818Xt unit can even be used to improve the navigation on your phone through apps such as Bluetooth GPS which allows you to connect this GPS receiver through to your navigation software such as Google Maps or Hema Maps, for a far more accurate and consistent experience that does not require phone signal to work. Ideal for 4WD navigation in remote areas.
