Turbocharge your engine cooling with the Davies, Craig EWP130 alloy Electric Water Pump. Like all the EWPs, this unit is designed for universal engine fitment, to satisfy those larger and higher horsepower, turbocharged, supercharged and ‘worked’ engines which develop excessive heat. Combine it with the LCD EWP/Fan Digital Controller and the pump continues to run after you’ve switched off, eliminating “heat soak” and extending engine life. The EWP130 and LCD EWP/Fan Digital Controller Combo Kit is the most economical way to increase horsepower and save on fuel consumption whilst caring for your engine. The Davies, Craig EWP header adaptor kit can replace the mechanical water pump completely.

The EWP130 configuration mirrors the highly successful EWP80 which offers a numerous selection of attachment options, including elbow and straight adaptors which can be bolted on to both the inlet and outlet for simple remote engine mounting.

The EWP130 will be supplied with one each of the 35mm (1⅜”) straight and elbow alloy adaptors, ‘O’ rings and mounting hardware along with two 3mm (⅛”) rubber adaptor sleeves. The respective 38 mm (1½”) alloy adaptors and 6mm (¼”) rubber adaptor sleeves are optional.

This rugged alloy hi-flow electric water pump is designed to complement or replace the engine’s existing mechanical water pump. This essential performance product increases power to your vehicle’s drive wheels and improves coolant temperature
control. By removing the parasitic power losses of belt-driven water pumps, the EWP130 releases up to 10kW (13hp) of extra power, increased torque and fuel savings.

EWPINSTALLATION OPTIONS

Installing an EWPas an AUXILIARY PUMP

Leaving the mechanical water pump in place, install the EWP into the bottom radiator hose.
Remove the thermostat and drill two approx. 3mm (1/8") holes in the thermostat plate to allow some coolant circulation when the thermostat is closed. Re-install ensuring that the thermostat housing is clean and a new gasket is used if required.

EWP INSTALLATION – disabling Mechanical water pump

Leaving the mechanical water pump in place, install the EWP into the bottom radiator hose and remove the manufacturer’s thermostat.
You will need to bypass the water pump pulley by installing an appropriate length belt (not supplied). This method makes for an easy installation.
If running the pump continuously remove the thermostat and drill two approx. 3mm (1/8") holes in the thermostat plate to allow some coolant circulation. Re-install ensuring that the thermostat housing is clean and a new gasket is used if required.

In both these cases, the EWP will pump past the impeller of the mechanical water pump.

Disengaged mechanical water pump (recommended)

Remove the mechanical water pump and remove the thermostat.
Then remove the impeller from the mechanical pump shaft. Retain the mechanical water pump using the pump pulley as an idler to avoid re-routing the drive belt.

Block any bypass passages and re-install the disengaged water pump ensuring that all gasket surfaces are clean and the new gaskets are properly fitted to prevent leaks.
Install the EWP^Ò into the bottom radiator hose.

Removed mechanical water pump (Ideal)

Remove the mechanical water pump and thermostat from the engine.
Install a Davies Craig EWP Header Adaptor or blanking plate (not supplied). Ensuring the gasket surfaces are clean and the appropriate gasket or sealant is used to prevent leaks.
Install the EWP into the bottom radiator hose. This method will require you to modify or replace the standard radiator hose.
Install an appropriate length belt (not supplied) to drive the accessories.

In most cases EWP will be adequately supported by the radiator hose. Where mounting is required, the EWP must be soft mounted to protect against vibration. For the EWP115, EWP130 and EWP150 Part #8700 Mounting bracket is recommended.

LCD EWP / FAN Controller

For optimum control of Davies, Craig 12 Volt and 24 Volt Electric Water Pumps.
Suits EWP80, EWP115, EWP130, EWP150 and Thermatic Fans.

The LCD EWP/Fan Digital Controller has two specific functions. This unique Digital Controller will manage the operation of the EWP by varying the speed of the pump in response to the coolant temperature and manage control of your electric engine fan. The Controller has a push-button to lock in any one of the nine targeted/set temperatures. It’s highly recommended you set/target the Controller to closely match your engine’s existing thermostat temperature.

Generally, higher engine temperature will offer improved fuel efficiency and lower engine temperature more power. The Digital Controller will operate the engine’s electric fan automatically once the engine has reached 3°C (5.4°F) above the targeted (set) temperature. Another significant benefit is that the Controller allows the EWP to run on after ignition shutdown to eliminate heat soak.
