Diesel engines produce internal vibrations. These vibrations travel up boost lines and may cause mechanical gauges (regardless of brand) to vibrate at some point. The tubing acts as a stethoscope and can "amplify" these vibrations.

Reducing the amount of air traveling to the gauge is the best way to reduce/eliminate these vibrations.
